Network Regression Testing

Regression testing of network upgrades is sometimes overlooked when swapping out the core or distribution switches of the factory floor. Where possible, use the same legacy PLC’s and access switches currently in your facility when staging your new gear.

For this project, we sources some old Stratix 8000 switches, CompactLogix L43/L24s, and micrologix when testing the convergence of some new redundant rack-mounted Stratix 5410s.

It turned out to save us time during startup as some of the field switch configs for the start nodes of a DLR needed some modifications. It is a lot easier to figure out these problems in the office before deploying and bringing up the system.
